Momentum ("the app," "we," "our") is an iOS app that shows daily quotes, animated backdrops, guided breathing exercises, a personal journal, reminder notifications, and Home Screen / Lock Screen widgets. It works entirely offline and does not communicate with any server operated by us or anyone else.
None. We do not operate a backend, and the app makes no network requests. We have no way to see, collect, or store any information about you or your use of the app, because nothing you do in the app is ever sent anywhere.
The app does save a small amount of data locally, using Apple's on-device storage APIs, so your preferences persist between sessions:
This data never leaves your device. It is not backed up to any server we control, not shared with any third party, and not visible to us in any form. If you delete the app, this data is deleted with it.
If you choose to set a custom background photo, the app asks for permission to access your photo library so you can pick one. The photo is referenced locally on your device and is never uploaded or transmitted anywhere. If you use the share feature to send a quote image to Messages, Photos, or another app, that action goes through Apple's standard share sheet and is entirely your choice — we have no visibility into it.
Reminder notifications are scheduled locally on your device using Apple's notification system. No push notification service or external server is involved, and no data about your reminders is transmitted anywhere.
Home Screen and Lock Screen widgets share data with the main app using Apple's App Group feature — a sandboxed storage area that exists entirely on your device, shared only between the app and its own widget extension. This is not a network connection and no data is sent off your device.
There is no account system, no sign-in, and nothing to register. The app contains no advertising, no ad networks, and no analytics or tracking SDKs of any kind.
The app is not directed at children under 13, and since we do not collect any information from anyone, we do not knowingly collect information from children.
If this policy ever changes — for example, if a future version of the app adds a feature that requires network access — we'll update this page and revise the date at the top.
